In the month of June, challenge yourself to eat fruit for dessert.
That's right. No sugary, processed, high-calorie desserts for a month--just pure and natural fruit. While fruit does contain sugar, it has much less by volume than sugary treats. For example, a half cup of strawberries has 3.5 grams of sugar, compared to 15 grams in a half cup of strawberry ice cream.
Fruits are full of vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, and water--all good things your body needs. So, when you feel like snacking on cookies or candy, choose fruit instead. The more you develop this habit and stay away from refined sugars, the more you will enjoy each fruitful bite.
